Connect Claude Code

Stat installs local Claude Code hooks for you. No API key is needed, and activity stays on this Mac.

Set it up

  1. 1

    Install Claude Code

    Install Claude Code and open it at least once so it creates its settings folder.

    Enable tracking in Stat

    Choose Claude Code in Stat and select Enable tracking. Stat adds its activity hooks to your user settings and preserves your other Claude Code settings.

    Start a new session

    Open a new Claude Code session and send a prompt. Stat starts counting from the next turn; earlier activity is not imported.

  4. 4

    Wait for the first turn

    Return to Stat. The connection status changes after the first new turn is received. You can turn tracking off from the same connection window.

Open Stat on your Mac and paste your details into the Claude Code connection.

Your credentials are saved in your Mac’s Keychain. Stat uses them to read the metrics shown in your screen saver.
