Connect Coinbase

Connect a view-only Coinbase Advanced Trade key to display the value of your crypto assets.

Set it up

    Open Coinbase Developer Platform

    Sign in to Coinbase Developer Platform and open the API keys section for Advanced Trade.

    Create a restricted key

    Create an ECDSA key for Advanced Trade. Set the permission to View only. Leave trading and transfer permissions disabled. If you can restrict the key to an account or portfolio, choose the one you want Stat to display.

    Copy the key name and private key

    Coinbase provides a key name and a private key in PEM format. Copy both values when shown. The private key is secret; never share it or paste it into a public document.

    Connect in Stat

    Paste the key name into Coinbase API key name. Paste the private key into the private key field. If Stat asks you to preserve line breaks as \n, keep that format, then choose Connect.

Open Stat on your Mac and paste your details into the Coinbase connection.

Your credentials are saved in your Mac’s Keychain. Stat uses them to read the metrics shown in your screen saver.
