Connect Instagram

Instagram follower counts are available to eligible professional accounts through Meta’s Instagram Login API.

Set it up

    Confirm your account type

    Your account must be an Instagram Business or Creator account. Personal accounts are not supported by this API.

    Create or open a Meta app

    Open Meta for Developers, create an app, and add the Instagram API with Instagram Login product. Configure Instagram Business Login and add your professional Instagram account as a tester if the app is still in development mode.

    Authorize the account

    Use Meta’s API setup flow to sign in as the Instagram professional account and grant instagram_business_basic. Copy the resulting Instagram user access token.

    Connect in Stat

    Paste the access token in the Instagram field and choose Connect.

Open Stat on your Mac and paste your details into the Instagram connection.

Your credentials are saved in your Mac’s Keychain. Stat uses them to read the metrics shown in your screen saver.
