Connect Twitch

Twitch requires a developer app, a user token with follower access, and the matching Client ID.

Set it up

  1. 1

    Register a Twitch app

Sign in to the Twitch Developer Console, enable two-factor authentication, and choose Applications → Register Your Application. For the official Twitch CLI flow below, set the redirect URL to http://localhost:3000, choose a category, and create the app. The CLI temporarily receives the sign-in response on your own Mac at that address; it is not Stat’s website address.

  2. 2

    Copy the Client ID

Open Manage for your app and copy its Client ID. You will enter this separately in Stat.

  3. 3

    Create a user access token

Twitch’s official route uses its command-line tool: configure it with your app’s Client ID and secret, then run twitch token -u -s moderator:read:followers. Sign in as the broadcaster (or a moderator) and approve the request. The generated token needs that exact permission.

  4. 4

    Connect in Stat

Paste the user access token, your Client ID, and your Twitch channel login name (without the URL) into Stat, then choose Connect.

What you’ll need

  • · Twitch user access token
  • · Twitch Client ID
  • · Channel login
